The average import price for sugar confectionery; (excluding chewing gum, including white chocolate), not containing cocoa stood at $2,600 per ton in March 2023, with an increase of 10% against the previous month. Over the period from March 2022 to March 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.5%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2022 an increase of 25% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $2,844 per ton in October 2022; however, from November 2022 to March 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the United States ($9,816 per ton), while the price for India ($1,463 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
