The average import price for sugar confectionery; (excluding chewing gum, including white chocolate), not containing cocoa stood at $5,028 per ton in October 2023, dropping by -24.2% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in September 2023 when the average import price increased by 24% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $6,635 per ton, and then dropped remarkably in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was the UK ($12,133 per ton), while the price for Bosnia and Herzegovina ($2,700 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
