In general, the import price showed a mild decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 16% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $2,159 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($2,304 per ton), while the price for India ($1,053 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In value terms, exports of sugar confectionery; (excluding chewing gum, including white chocolate), not containing cocoa contracted dramatically to $590K in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 70% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $743K, and then dropped significantly in the following year.
