In November 2023, the average import price for sugar confectionery; (excluding chewing gum, including white chocolate), not containing cocoa amounted to $2,254 per ton, surging by 7.9% against the previous month. In general, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 13% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $2,268 per ton in February 2023; afterwards, it flattened through to November 2023.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was China ($4,412 per ton), while the price for Iran ($782 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ukraine (+2.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
