In September 2023, the average import price for spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages amounted to $6.0 per litre, jumping by 48% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +4.6%. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Romania ($11.6 per litre), while the price for Latvia ($900 per thousand litres) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Austria (+9.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average export price for spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages amounted to $5.2 per litre, growing by 62% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($9.3 per litre), while the average price for exports to Germany ($2.8 per litre) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+10.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports of Spirits, Liqueurs and Other Spirituous Beverages in Slovenia

In 2022, imports of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages into Slovenia reached 4.9M litres, growing by 5.7% on 2021 figures. Over the period under review, imports saw strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 73% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of reached the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, imports of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages rose remarkably to $21M in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a resilient increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +17.2% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +69.4% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 50%. Over the period under review, imports of reached the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 58% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
