Price for Spirits, Liqueurs and Other Spirituous Beverages in Lithuania (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average import price for spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages amounted to $2.9 per litre, picking up by 15% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.3%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 15% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($5.5 per litre), while the price for Belarus ($0.9 per litre) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Estonia (+1.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In September 2023, the average export price for spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages amounted to $3.5 per litre, picking up by 8.7% against the previous month. Over the period from September 2022 to September 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.7%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 28% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $4.4 per litre in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to September 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Russia ($6.9 per litre), while the average price for exports to Sweden ($1.8 per litre) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bulgaria (+7.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Spirits, Liqueurs and Other Spirituous Beverages in Lithuania
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages, when their volume decreased by -24.4% to 16M litres. Overall, imports saw a slight descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 14%. Imports peaked at 22M litres in 2021, and then declined sharply in the following year.
In value terms, imports of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages fell to $47M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 22% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $54M, and then shrank in the following year.
