The average export price for spices; nutmeg, crushed or ground stood at $9,814 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a abrupt descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average export price increased by 11%. The export price peaked at $33,027 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($12,474 per ton), while the average price for exports to Australia ($8,190 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
