The average import price for spices; nutmeg, crushed or ground stood at $17,065 per ton in August 2023, declining by -13.4% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated a slight expansion from August 2022 to August 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.4% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on August 2023 figures, spices; nutmeg, crushed or ground import price decreased by -31.1% against May 2023 indices. There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($32,933 per ton), while the price for Vietnam ($9,714 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Sri Lanka (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
