In 2022, the average import price for spices; nutmeg, crushed or ground amounted to $6,634 per ton, with an increase of 10% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a perceptible decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 30%. The import price peaked at $9,851 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($14,216 per ton), while the price for Indonesia totaled $6,505 per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+7.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($13,075 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belarus ($3,322 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Turkmenistan (+0.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
