In 2022, the average import price for spices; cardamoms, neither crushed nor ground amounted to $24,893 per ton, picking up by 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price posted prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 63%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $27,387 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was India ($26,545 per ton), while the price for Guatemala totaled $24,608 per ton.

Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $19,420 per ton in 2021, and then reduced modestly in the following year.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Sudan (+51.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
