The average import price for spices; cardamoms, crushed or ground stood at $23,159 per ton in 2022, surging by 6.2% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a pronounced slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 an increase of 44%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $31,308 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($35,000 per ton), while the price for Lebanon ($4,000 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
