In September 2023, the average export price for silicates; commercial alkali metal silicateses amounted to $1,690 per ton, increasing by 5.4% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated a modest expansion from September 2022 to September 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.2% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2023 figures, silicates; commercial alkali metal silicates export price decreased by -20.2% against July 2023 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in July 2023 an increase of 52% m-o-m. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $2,117 per ton. From August 2023 to September 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Mexico ($2,610 per ton), while the average price for exports to Suriname ($128 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Saudi Arabia (+8.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for silicates; commercial alkali metal silicateses stood at $741 per ton in 2022, picking up by 35% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a mild curtailment. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $923 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($1,705 per ton), while the price for Brazil ($483 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mexico (+9.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
