In 2022, the average import price for silicates; commercial alkali metal silicateses amounted to $523 per ton, increasing by 5.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a perceptible downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 24%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $826 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Australia ($682 per ton), while the price for Nigeria ($63 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Overall, export price indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +7.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, silicates; commercial alkali metal silicates export price increased by +62.6% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when the average export price increased by 51%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $2,547 per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Cote d'Ivoire ($11,000 per ton), while the average price for exports to Burkina Faso ($2,402 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
