The average import price for quartz; other than natural sandses stood at $1,213 per ton in August 2023, growing by 166% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, showed a slight descent. The import price peaked at $1,340 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to August 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Israel ($2,139 per ton), while the price for Germany ($134 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2023 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Israel (+5.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average export price for quartz; other than natural sandses stood at $981 per ton in 2022, picking up by 85% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a pronounced setback. The export price peaked at $1,769 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($6,413 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($172 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United Arab Emirates (+5.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
