Price for Quartz; Other than Natural Sands in India (FOB) - 2023
The average export price for quartz; other than natural sandses stood at $145 per ton in July 2023, dropping by -16.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, export price indicated a buoyant expansion from November 2022 to July 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +5.3% over the last eight months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on July 2023 figures, quartz; other than natural sands export price decreased by -19.7% against April 2023 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 30% m-o-m. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $180 per ton. From May 2023 to July 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Japan ($307 per ton), while the average price for exports to Kuwait ($43.0 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bhutan (+2.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for quartz; other than natural sandses stood at $628 per ton in July 2023, which is down by -34.7% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 142% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $1,143 per ton. From May 2023 to July 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Italy.
From December 2022 to July 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Vietnam amounted to +13.3% per month.
