Price for Processed Petroleum Oils and Distillates in Brazil (CIF) - 2023
The average import price for processed petroleum oils and distillates stood at $894 per ton in September 2023, with an increase of 5.3% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, recorded a mild decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in August 2023 when the average import price increased by 11% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $1,098 per ton in October 2022; however, from November 2022 to September 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was India ($1,211 per ton), while the price for Peru ($707 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+2.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for processed petroleum oils and distillates stood at $688 per ton in September 2023, growing by 14% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a slight reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in June 2023 an increase of 17% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $794 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to September 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Argentina ($1,293 per ton), while the average price for exports to Singapore ($588 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain (+5.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
