Price for Poultry Fat; Other than That of Heading 0209 or 1503 in Turkey (CIF) - 2023

In December 2023, the average import price for poultry fat; other than that of heading 0209 or 1503 meat amounted to $850 per ton, with an increase of 2.1% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a slight descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in June 2023 an increase of 21% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $1,084 per ton. From July 2023 to December 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was Ukraine ($979 per ton), while the price for Romania ($820 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ukraine (+0.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average export price for poultry fat; other than that of heading 0209 or 1503 meat amounted to $577 per ton, falling by -30.6% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, posted a modest increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when the average export price increased by 534% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $3,201 per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Syrian Arab Republic.

From 2015 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for the United Arab Emirates amounted to +20.1% per year.

Imports of Poultry Fat; Other than That of Heading 0209 or 1503 in Turkey

In 2022, the amount of poultry fat; other than that of heading 0209 or 1503 meat imported into Turkey contracted sharply to 1.2K tons, declining by -44.6% on 2021 figures. In general, imports, however, enjoyed strong growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 1,348% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 2.1K tons, and then dropped notably in the following year.

In value terms, imports of poultry fat; other than that of heading 0209 or 1503 meat dropped dramatically to $1.1M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw prominent growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 1,076%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $1.7M, and then dropped markedly in the following year.

For the third consecutive year, Turkey recorded decline in overseas shipments of poultry fat; other than that of heading 0209 or 1503 meat, which decreased by -53.8% to 4.2 tons in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed a precipitous decrease. The smallest decline of -32% was in 2021.

In value terms, exports of poultry fat; other than that of heading 0209 or 1503 meat fell notably to $2.4K in 2022. In general, exports faced a sharp decrease. The smallest decline of -43.4% was in 2020.
