Price for Polypropylene in Primary Forms in India (CIF) - 2023
In July 2023, the average polypropylene in primary forms import price amounted to $994 per ton, reducing by -8.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a pronounced contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2023 when the average import price increased by 6.2% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $1,387 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to July 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($1,408 per ton), while the price for the United States ($738 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (-1.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In July 2023, the average polypropylene in primary forms export price amounted to $961 per ton, dropping by -2.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price showed a mild contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in October 2022 an increase of 16% m-o-m. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $1,235 per ton. From November 2022 to July 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
