In 2022, the average import price for polymers of propylene or of other olefins, in primary formses amounted to $1,710 per ton, declining by -8.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 72% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $1,870 per ton, and then declined in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($2,165 per ton), while the price for Romania ($1,298 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+5.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for polymers of propylene or of other olefins, in primary formses stood at $1,196 per ton in November 2023, rising by 1.9% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in December 2022 when the average export price increased by 27% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $1,556 per ton. From January 2023 to November 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In November 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to Slovenia ($1,315 per ton) and Bulgaria ($1,253 per ton), while the average price for exports to Croatia ($953 per ton) and Bosnia and Herzegovina ($1,077 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ukraine (+0.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports of polymers of propylene or of other olefins, in primary formses into Serbia reached 83K tons in 2022, remaining constant against 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a perceptible curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 1.6% against the previous year.
