In October 2023, the average import price for polymers of propylene or of other olefins, in primary formses amounted to $1,413 per ton, waning by -11.4% against the previous month. In general, the import price saw a slight descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 an increase of 7.4% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $1,745 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to October 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was the UK ($1,879 per ton), while the price for Vietnam ($1,099 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kazakhstan (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Turkey ($2,207 per ton), while the average price for exports to Ecuador ($956 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belarus (+1.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
