In November 2023, the average export price for polymers of propylene or of other olefins, in primary formses amounted to $1,150 per ton, rising by 6% against the previous month. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 an increase of 13% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $1,334 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to November 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($1,151 per ton), while the average price for exports to Russia totaled $1,149 per ton.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Turkey (+1.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

The average import price for polymers of propylene or of other olefins, in primary formses stood at $1,394 per ton in November 2023, increasing by 11% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The import price peaked at $1,566 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to November 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Singapore ($2,161 per ton), while the price for Oman ($1,100 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Polymers of Propylene or of Other Olefins, in Primary Forms in Azerbaijan
After three years of growth, overseas shipments of polymers of propylene or of other olefins, in primary formses decreased by -8.7% to 105K tons in 2022. In general, total exports indicated buoyant growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +11.2% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +37.4% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 34% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 116K tons, and then contracted in the following year.
In value terms, exports of polymers of propylene or of other olefins, in primary formses dropped sharply to $141M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, recorded significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 139% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $174M, and then fell markedly in the following year.
