In August 2023, the average export price for poly(lactic acid); in primary formses amounted to $2,631 per ton, with a decrease of -5.1% against the previous month. In general, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2023 an increase of 10% m-o-m. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $2,772 per ton, and then shrank in the following month.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In August 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to India ($2,654 per ton) and Japan ($2,613 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($2,349 per ton) and Taiwan (Chinese) ($2,350 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+0.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
