Price for Polyethylene Glycol and Polyether in Belarus (CIF) - 2022
The average polyethylene glycol and polyether import price stood at $2,396 per ton in April 2021, increasing by 5.8% against the previous month. Over the period from January 2021 to April 2021, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.5%. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In April 2021, the country with the highest price was Romania ($3,281 per ton), while the price for Russia ($2,062 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to April 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+8.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Price for Polyethylene Glycol and Polyether in Belarus (FOB) - 2022
The average polyethylene glycol and polyether export price stood at $2,794 per ton in 2022, waning by -4.5% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 26%. The export price peaked at $2,926 per ton in 2021, and then fell slightly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Ukraine ($3,710 per ton), while the average price for exports to Egypt ($1,200 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (+2.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Imports of Polyethylene Glycol and Polyether in Belarus
In 2022, after two years of decline, there was growth in purchases abroad of polyethylene glycols and polyethers in primary forms, when their volume increased by 1.1% to 10K tons. In general, imports, however, showed a pronounced descent.
In value terms, polyethylene glycol and polyether imports fell to $22M in 2022. Overall, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 30%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $25M, and then fell in the following year.

In 2022, shipments abroad of polyethylene glycols and polyethers in primary forms was finally on the rise to reach 116 tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a abrupt descent.
In value terms, polyethylene glycol and polyether exports contracted slightly to $325K in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a abrupt downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 3%.
