Price for Plants, Live; Roses, Grafted or Not in Poland (FOB) - 2023

In November 2023, the average export price for plants, live; roses, grafted or nots amounted to $1.7 per unit, growing by 77% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a mild decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2023 an increase of 92% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $2.5 per unit in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to November 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the UK ($3.2 per unit), while the average price for exports to Spain ($215 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ukraine (+5.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average import price for plants, live; roses, grafted or nots amounted to $3 per unit, declining by -3.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, posted buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average import price increased by 108%. The import price peaked at $3.1 per unit in 2021, and then reduced modestly in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($5.2 per unit), while the price for Uzbekistan ($0.7 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+71.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

For the third year in a row, Poland recorded decline in overseas shipments of plants, live; roses, grafted or nots, which decreased by -24.7% to 1.9M units in 2022. In general, exports faced a sharp decrease. The exports peaked at 8.1M units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, exports of plants, live; roses, grafted or nots fell modestly to $7.3M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a mild curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 3.9%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $7.9M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports of remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, imports of plants, live; roses, grafted or nots fell dramatically to $3M in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a abrupt downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 24%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $4.4M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports of remained at a lower figure.
