Price for Plants, Live; Rhododendrons and Azaleas, Grafted or Not in Ukraine (CIF) - 2022
The average import price for plants, live; rhododendrons and azaleas, grafted or nots stood at $4.3 per unit in 2022, approximately mirroring the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 35% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $5.1 per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the countries with the highest prices were Italy ($4.3 per unit) and Belgium ($4.3 per unit), while the price for Germany ($4.3 per unit) and the Netherlands ($4.3 per unit) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+0.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Plants, Live; Rhododendrons and Azaleas, Grafted or Not in Ukraine
After three years of growth, supplies from abroad of plants, live; rhododendrons and azaleas, grafted or nots decreased by -47.5% to 67K units in 2022. In general, imports, however, posted resilient growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 81% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 128K units, and then contracted sharply in the following year.
In value terms, imports of plants, live; rhododendrons and azaleas, grafted or nots reduced notably to $289K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 94%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $554K, and then declined markedly in the following year.
