In July 2023, the average import price for pitch; obtained from coal tar or from other mineral tarses amounted to $1,298 per ton, rising by 2.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a mild curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 when the average import price increased by 120% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $2,112 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to July 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($1,989 per ton), while the price for India ($1,170 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2023 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (0.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for pitch; obtained from coal tar or from other mineral tarses stood at $2,375 per ton in 2022, increasing by 38% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded prominent growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when the average export price increased by 148% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $2,994 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Bosnia and Herzegovina ($2,766 per ton), while the average price for exports to Sweden ($1,304 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
