In September 2023, the average import price for pitch; obtained from coal tar or from other mineral tarses amounted to $1,391 per ton, reducing by -12.5% against the previous month. In general, the import price recorded a noticeable curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in July 2023 when the average import price increased by 15% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $1,961 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to September 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Germany.
From December 2022 to September 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Germany amounted to -3.7% per month.
