In 2022, the average import price for photographic plates and film; for offset reproduction, exposed and developeds amounted to $20,841 per ton, approximately reflecting the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 an increase of 20% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $22,092 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($21,817 per ton), while the price for Singapore ($12,207 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+15.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
