Price for Photographic Paper, Paperboard and Textiles; Sensitised, Unexposed in the Netherlands (FOB) - 2023

In November 2023, the average export price for photographic paper, paperboard and textiles; sensitised, unexposeds amounted to $2.2 per square meter, reducing by -4.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2023 an increase of 73% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $2.3 per square meter in October 2023, and then fell modestly in the following month.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($3.8 per square meter), while the average price for exports to China ($1.8 per square meter) was amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium (+6.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In November 2023, the average import price for photographic paper, paperboard and textiles; sensitised, unexposeds amounted to $4.9 per square meter, surging by 8.2% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated a modest expansion from November 2022 to November 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.4% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on November 2023 figures, import price for photographic paper, paperboard and textiles; sensitised, unexposeds increased by +8.2% against October 2023 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in May 2023 an increase of 42% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $5.1 per square meter in August 2023; however, from September 2023 to November 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Sweden ($13.2 per square meter), while the price for Portugal ($2.5 per square meter) was amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Sweden (+9.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, approx. 118M square meters of photographic paper, paperboard and textiles; sensitised, unexposeds were exported from the Netherlands; rising by 54% on the year before. In general, total exports indicated a strong expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.4% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +62.0% against 2020 indices. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, exports of photographic paper, paperboard and textiles; sensitised, unexposeds surged to $234M in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated prominent growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.1% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +55.7% against 2020 indices. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 49% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $88M.
