Price for Phosphorus, Arsenic and Selenium in Vietnam (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average phosphorus, arsenic and selenium export price amounted to $7,160 per ton, jumping by 110% against the previous year. In general, the export price posted strong growth. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were India ($7,218 per ton) and Japan ($7,218 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United States ($6,672 per ton) and South Africa ($6,672 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+9.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average phosphorus, arsenic and selenium import price stood at $3,792 per ton in 2022, declining by -23% against the previous year. Overall, the import price faced a significant decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 17% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $104,971 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($11,448 per ton), while the price for South Korea ($3,098 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (-14.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Exports of Phosphorus, Arsenic and Selenium in Vietnam
In 2022, overseas shipments of phosphorus, arsenic and selenium decreased by -45.7% to 65K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, exports recorded a deep contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 36%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 120K tons, and then fell notably in the following year.
