Price for Phosphorus, Arsenic and Selenium in Sri Lanka (CIF) - 2022
The average phosphorus, arsenic and selenium import price stood at $8,119 per ton in 2022, rising by 7.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a noticeable contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average import price increased by 19%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $11,280 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Poland ($35,812 per ton), while the price for India ($7,386 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Democratic People's Republic of Korea (-1.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

The average phosphorus, arsenic and selenium export price stood at $11,414 per ton in 2022, declining by -22.7% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 69%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $14,762 per ton in 2021, and then dropped notably in the following year.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Maldives.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Maldives amounted to -0.4% per year.
Imports of Phosphorus, Arsenic and Selenium in Sri Lanka
Phosphorus, arsenic and selenium imports into Sri Lanka amounted to 17 tons in 2022, picking up by 4.6% compared with 2021. In general, imports recorded significant growth.
