In January 2024, the average import price for petroleum resins, coumarone, indene or coumarone-indene resins and polyterpenes; in primary formses amounted to $1,932 per ton, remaining stable against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in July 2023 an increase of 13% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $2,088 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to January 2024, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In January 2024, the country with the highest price was France ($5,558 per ton), while the price for Taiwan (Chinese) ($1,403 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+1.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average export price for petroleum resins, coumarone, indene or coumarone-indene resins and polyterpenes; in primary formses amounted to $2,659 per ton, surging by 1.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a slight descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 38% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $3,262 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Slovenia ($5,233 per ton), while the average price for exports to China ($1,400 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+79.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, total imports indicated a prominent increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +17.0% over the last three years.
