In November 2023, the average import price for petroleum resins, coumarone, indene or coumarone-indene resins and polyterpenes; in primary formses amounted to $1,999 per ton, rising by 7.2% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a mild decline. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $2,437 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to November 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($4,492 per ton), while the price for Russia ($832 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+4.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In November 2023, the average export price for petroleum resins, coumarone, indene or coumarone-indene resins and polyterpenes; in primary formses amounted to $2,013 per ton, with an increase of 1.7% against the previous month. Overall, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2023 when the average export price increased by 36% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $2,324 per ton. From March 2023 to November 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Spain ($4,873 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($1,456 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+8.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of petroleum resins, coumarone, indene or coumarone-indene resins and polyterpenes; in primary formses, when their volume decreased by -5.9% to 29K tons. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +8.9% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 28%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 31K tons, and then shrank in the following year.
In value terms, imports of petroleum resins, coumarone, indene or coumarone-indene resins and polyterpenes; in primary formses reached $70M in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a strong expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +14.3% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +49.4% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 34% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In general, exports, however, saw a measured increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 86%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 6.7K tons, and then declined significantly in the following year.
In value terms, exports of petroleum resins, coumarone, indene or coumarone-indene resins and polyterpenes; in primary formses declined notably to $5.5M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 111% against the previous year.
