In July 2023, the average import price for pectic substances; pectinates and pectateses amounted to $12,016 per ton, waning by -2.8% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 20% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $13,907 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to July 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from Germany ($14,332 per ton) and China ($13,414 per ton), while the price for Singapore ($10,077 per ton) and Brazil ($11,651 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mexico (+8.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for pectic substances; pectinates and pectateses stood at $13,936 per ton in 2022, surging by 19% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a pronounced shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 539%. The export price peaked at $27,645 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($33,472 per ton), while the average price for exports to Brazil ($10,267 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Indonesia (+29.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
