The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average import price increased by 59%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $23,682 per ton. In general, export price indicated a moderate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 55% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $26,799 per ton in 2021, and then fell remarkably in the following year.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were Saudi Arabia ($22,708 per ton) and Israel ($22,486 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($19,000 per ton) and Palestine ($19,025 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Palestine (+32.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
