In 2022, the average import price for paper, cigarette; in the form of booklets or tubeses amounted to $18,339 per ton, declining by -11.3% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a resilient increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, import price for paper, cigarette; in the form of booklets or tubeses decreased by -22.6% against 2018 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average import price increased by 59%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $23,682 per ton. From 2019 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from Romania ($18,885 per ton) and Poland ($18,884 per ton), while the price for Lebanon ($14,008 per ton) and Austria ($18,883 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+30.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average export price for paper, cigarette; in the form of booklets or tubeses amounted to $21,073 per ton, declining by -21.4% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a moderate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 55% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $26,799 per ton in 2021, and then fell remarkably in the following year.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were Saudi Arabia ($22,708 per ton) and Israel ($22,486 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($19,000 per ton) and Palestine ($19,025 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Palestine (+32.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, overseas purchases of paper, cigarette; in the form of booklets or tubeses decreased by -1.9% to 95 tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. In general, imports, however, showed a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 46%.
