The average import price for optical elements; polarising material, sheets and plates thereoves stood at $74,897 per ton in November 2023, approximately mirroring the previous month. In general, import price indicated a modest increase from November 2022 to November 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.7% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on November 2023 figures, import price for optical elements; polarising material, sheets and plates thereoves decreased by -14.1% against July 2023 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2023 when the average import price increased by 80% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $87,183 per ton in July 2023; however, from August 2023 to November 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+19.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for optical elements; polarising material, sheets and plates thereoves stood at $55,812 per ton in 2022, reducing by -8.4% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average export price increased by 518% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $66,703 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($84,165 per ton), while the average price for exports to Hong Kong SAR ($162 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium (+38.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

For the fourth consecutive year, Poland recorded growth in overseas purchases of optical elements; polarising material, sheets and plates thereoves, which increased by 0.4% to 28 tons in 2022.
