The average import price for oils and products of the distillation of high temperature coal tar; xyloles stood at $1,382 per ton in 2022, increasing by 56% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a slight downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 69% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $3,216 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($3,341 per ton), while the price for Belgium amounted to $1,358 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+8.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
