In November 2023, the average export price for oils and products of the distillation of high temperature coal tar; xyloles amounted to $919 per ton, dropping by -6.4% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in September 2023 when the average export price increased by 9.9% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $982 per ton in October 2023, and then fell in the following month.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was China ($953 per ton), while the average price for exports to South Korea ($884 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Taiwan (Chinese) (+1.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
