In 2022, the average import price for oils and products of the distillation of high temperature coal tar; naphthalenes amounted to $4,592 per ton, almost unchanged from the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a mild increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average import price increased by 83%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $9,275 per ton. From 2020 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($4,891 per ton), while the price for China amounted to $4,484 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+15.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, imports of oils and products of the distillation of high temperature coal tar; naphthalenes soared to $799 in 2022. Overall, imports, however, recorded a sharp slump.
