In November 2023, the average export price for oils and products of the distillation of high temperature coal tar; naphthalenes amounted to $647 per ton, growing by 2.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2023 an increase of 25% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $877 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to November 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In November 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Saudi Arabia ($769 per ton) and Malaysia ($700 per ton), while the average price for exports to China ($522 per ton) and South Korea ($643 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Taiwan (Chinese) (+0.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

As a result, import price reached the peak level of $3,226 per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
