In 2022, the average import price for offal, edible; of swine, fresh or chilled amounted to $3,334 per ton, which is down by -7.4% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when the average import price increased by 26%. The import price peaked at $3,599 per ton in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

In 2022, purchases abroad of offal, edible; of swine, fresh or chilled decreased by -10.5% to 3.4 tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. In general, total imports indicated prominent growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +13.4% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +45.7% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 29% against the previous year.

In value terms, imports of offal, edible; of swine, fresh or chilled declined significantly to $11K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 62% against the previous year.
