The average import price for nuts, edible; almonds, fresh or dried, shelleds stood at $4,370 per ton in July 2023, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous month. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2023 an increase of 3.2% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $4,513 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to July 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($4,938 per ton), while the price for Uzbekistan ($820 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From February 2023 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Iran (+6.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In July 2023, the average export price for nuts, edible; almonds, fresh or dried, shelleds amounted to $5,492 per ton, approximately mirroring the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a pronounced curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2023 when the average export price increased by 4.2% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $6,405 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to July 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Libya ($8,163 per ton), while the average price for exports to Turkmenistan ($3,750 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From February 2023 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Iraq (+5.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, approx. 37K tons of nuts, edible; almonds, fresh or dried, shelleds were imported into Turkey; picking up by 57% against the previous year. Overall, total imports indicated a significant increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +21.3% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +78.5% against 2019 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, imports of nuts, edible; almonds, fresh or dried, shelleds soared to $187M in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +16.4% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
