In November 2023, the average import price for non-PVC floor, wall and ceiling coverings amounted to $4.4 per square meter, increasing by 6.2% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.2%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2023 an increase of 17% against the previous month. The import price peaked in November 2023.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($5.0 per square meter), while the price for China totaled $4.1 per square meter.

From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Indonesia (+1.7%).

Price for Non-PVC Floor, Wall and Ceiling Coverings in Thailand (FOB) - 2022

The average export price for non-PVC floor, wall and ceiling coverings stood at $4.3 per square meter in 2022, dropping by -11.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated prominent growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, export price for non-PVC floor, wall and ceiling coverings increased by +29.6% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when the average export price increased by 42% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $4.8 per square meter in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($9.5 per square meter), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($1.2 per square meter) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Malaysia (+11.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports of Non-PVC Floor, Wall and Ceiling Coverings in Thailand

In 2022, approx. 6M square meters of non-PVC floor, wall and ceiling coverings were imported into Thailand; increasing by 20% against the previous year. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a slight setback. Imports peaked at 6.3M square meters in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, imports of non-PVC floor, wall and ceiling coverings skyrocketed to $24M in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +19.6% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +71.2% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 33% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, exports of non-PVC floor, wall and ceiling coverings fell remarkably to $1.7M in 2022. Overall, exports faced a precipitous decrease. The smallest decline of -19.1% was in 2020. The exports peaked at $3.8M in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
