The average import price for nickel; plates, sheets, strip and foil, of nickel alloyses stood at $56,726 per ton in November 2023, rising by 19% against the previous month. Over the period under review, import price indicated a moderate expansion from December 2022 to November 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.6% over the last eleven-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on November 2023 figures, import price for nickel; plates, sheets, strip and foil, of nickel alloyses increased by +25.7% against August 2023 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in September 2023 when the average import price increased by 55% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $84,147 per ton in July 2023; however, from August 2023 to November 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($70,036 per ton), while the price for Turkey ($12,616 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+2.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average export price increased by 24% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $67,506 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($142,616 per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($24,370 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+5.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
