The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on October 2023 figures, import price for nickel; plates, sheets, strip and foil, of nickel alloyses increased by +106.6% against August 2023 indices. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Canada ($167K per ton), while the price for the United States stood at $74,552 per ton.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Canada (+36.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a deep slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average export price increased by 42% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $112,889 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($534,837 per ton), while the average price for exports to Romania ($36,106 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+31.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, exports continue to indicate a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 72%. Over the period under review, the exports of attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
