The average import price for nickel; bars, rods and profiles, of nickel alloyses stood at $61,465 per ton in July 2023, picking up by 71% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a mild setback. The import price peaked at $65,429 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to July 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($84,292 per ton), while the price for China ($34,921 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2023 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+6.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 239%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $46,492 per ton in 2021, and then shrank rapidly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was India ($179,900 per ton), while the average price for exports to Azerbaijan ($14,270 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+252.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
