In July 2023, the average multiple-walled insulating glass unit import price amounted to $51.1 per square meter, growing by 3.1% against the previous month. In general, the import price continues to indicate a slight expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 12% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $58.9 per square meter. From February 2023 to July 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($145 per square meter), while the price for Croatia ($28.5 per square meter) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Slovakia (+3.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+10.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, imports of multiple-walled insulating units of glass into Switzerland stood at 2.6M square meters, flattening at 2021. Overall, imports, however, saw a abrupt decline. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at 3M square meters in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
