The average import price for molluscs; octopus (octopus spp.), frozen, dried, salted or in brine stood at $7,710 per ton in 2022, rising by 16% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average import price increased by 40% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $9,440 per ton. From 2019 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($7,727 per ton), while the price for Singapore ($7,615 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
