The average export price for mollusc preparations; scallops, including queen scallops, prepared or preserveds stood at $28,630 per ton in November 2023, increasing by 6.3% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 7.7% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $32,636 per ton in August 2023; however, from September 2023 to November 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In November 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to Greece ($34,632 per ton) and Sweden ($32,556 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($26,232 per ton) and Belgium ($28,198 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Greece (+0.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $33,431 per ton in 2021, and then dropped dramatically in the following year.
