In July 2023, the average import price for mollusc preparations; mussels, prepared or preserveds amounted to $4,457 per ton, growing by 9.3% against the previous month. Over the last eight months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +5.0%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2023 when the average import price increased by 31% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $4,609 per ton. From June 2023 to July 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was New Zealand ($6,783 per ton), while the price for Chile ($3,212 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by New Zealand (+2.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
